Description
About 135 kilometres of sediment cores mainly from the Atlantic Ocean are stored in the Bremen Core Repository of the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP). This section shows the Cretaceous – Tertiary boundary about 65 million years ago which gives evidence of an extraterrestrial impact in the Gulf of Mexico.
